How to Unlock Your Genius Using Black History is an eight week online Black history and personal development course. Based on the book with the same title and written by the award winning educationalist and author, David Simon, this course covers 150,000 of Black history.
Students are taught in a fully resourced interactive virtual classroom, and are provided with online notes, images and illustrations.
This course is aimed at adults who would like to use Black history as a personal and community development tool.

Lead trainer: David Simon BA Hons MA PGCE DHom
David Simon is the author of the novels Secrets of the Sapodilla (1986) and Garvey’s Last Soldier (1999). He is the winner of the Peterloo Poetry Award (1990) and his ‘Windrush’ play Mountaintop (1993) was nominated for a London Fringe Award. David was awarded the 2002, 100 Black Men Community Award. David is the founder of Simon Education (formerly Ebony Saturday Schools – 1987), winner of the CARAF Supplementary School of the Year Award 2005 and winner of the London Schools and Black Child Conference Supplementary School of the Year Award 2006. He is the author of How to Unlock Your Child’s Genius (2004), How to Unlock Your Family’s Genius (2009) and How to Homeschool Your Child (2016) and How to Unlock Your Genius Using Black History. David was formerly deputy Head of Basic Skills at a London FE college.
