Jak Beula, cultural activist, entrepreneur, Board game designer and sometimes referred to as ‘Black People’s Blue Plaque man’.
About this event
Jak’s vision is responsible for more than 79 of the blue commemorative plaques in the UK honouring Black people.
Inventor of the award-winning board game Nubian Jak. Designer of the African & Caribbean War Memorial on display in Windrush Square, London and of the statue to commemorate the contribution of Windrush and Commonwealth midwives and nurses to the NHS. Jak is tireless in his desire to ensure that stories of the lives, achievements and contributions of Black people are accessible to all.
