What is the meaning of black art ?
More specifically what is African art?
Did you think Tribal masks and stolen artefacts in the British museum? So did most of the West as they turned away, blinded by the stigmas attached to the word “African”.
So the theme is simple.
AFROTOPIA is neither Utopia nor Dystopia.
It is the real life experiences of young contemporary artists who happen to be of Africa and it’s diaspora.
These are their lives, experiences and visions.
