Save for Later
BREAKING NEWS!!! WE HAVE MOVED TO A BIGGER SCREEN TO ACCOMODATE TICKET REQUESTS.
Only a few left though so hurry …
Join us from the 30th August to experience the inspirational I Will Tell film festival; a powerful celebration of impactful dramas, documentaries, animations and short films from across the world that highlight key societal issues as well as music, creativity and the power of the ordinary person to overcome extraordinary circumstances.
Our Opening Gala is a FREE screening of Ava DuVernay’s award-winning documentary 13th. Titled after the Thirteenth Amendment to the United States Constitution, which freed the slaves and prohibited #slavery (unless as punishment for a crime), the film explores the intersection of race, justice and mass incarceration in the United States. The much acclaimed documentary has been championed by many across the world who protest against systems of control where a disproportionate number of a subjugated group are cruelly mistreated – whether it’s a Dalit in India or the indigenous people of Australia, an African American, or a young #blackman in #London as may have been the case recently with Rashan Charles.
Stay for the inspirationa; Q&A after the screening with high profile Community Leaders and Dionne Walker award-winning Producer of THE HARD STOP.
A full list of the films showing at this year’s festival is below. W have a suite of World, European and UK Premieres as well as special events and love performance. The Event Calendar online is here: http://iwilltell.com/Events/events-calendar.html
