On the weekend following Nigeria’s 60th Independence Day, The Koppel Project presents, in collaboration with Kanbi Projects, [Re]Framing The Black Aesthetic a panel discussion centred on the hybridisation of aesthetic representation at the junction between Nigerian and Western modernity.
Presented by a panel of leading creatives and cultural producers of Nigerian heritage in multi-cultural Britain, featuring Peju Oshin, Mimi Shodeinde, Chibundu Onuzo and Ade Àsìkò Okelarin. The panelists will discuss their own experiences as contemporary British-Nigerian creatives and how their practices have been shaped or not by this stylistic duality.
Due to COVID-19 there will be no admission without a prior RSVP; please bring your own mask, temperatures will be taken upon arrival and if you feel unwell in the lead up to the event please contact us and stay at home on the day!
