Jignesh Bhavsar, MD, a cardiologist at Penn Medicine, discusses how coronary artery disease can lead to serious health problems, including angina, heart attack, congestive heart failure, arrhythmias and sudden cardiac death.

Most heart attacks begin slowly with subtle symptoms such as discomfort that often is not described as pain. Often people affected are not sure what is wrong and wait too long before getting help. Symptoms are downplayed or brushed off as indigestion or anxiety. Knowing your risk factors is critical.
