September is National Prostate Cancer Awareness Month.
According to studies, one in six African American men will develop prostate cancer in his lifetime.
Overall, African American men are 1.7 times more likely to be diagnosed with prostate cancer and 2.3 times more likely to die from prostate cancer than white men.
Dr. Adam Metwalli, Chief of the Division of Urology at Howard University Hospital spoke with Roland Martin about the risk factors, prevention and how the potentially deadly disease can be cured.
