Vernice Armour – Black Female Motivational Speaker on Overcoming Obstacles
Save for Later
Venice “Fly Girl” Armour gives a compelling commencement speech about overcoming her many obstacles of being an African American female in the Marines. Venice encourages her audience to acknowledge the obstacles in their lives but to resist giving them the power to defeat them. Her main message is engagement. She relates her experience in the Marines with engaging in life and overcoming those obstacles.
Vernice Armour became the United States Marine Corps’ first African American female pilot and, shortly after, she was recognized as America’s First African American Female Combat Pilot by the Department of Defense. She completed two tours in Iraq and then created her own company, which produced over six- figures in revenue in the first 12 months. Through her model of a Breakthrough Mentality she hopes to elicit change globally.
