History consultant Kwaku will lead this African History Reflection Day session, weaving the historic and legislative thread from the famed docking of Empire Windrush in 1948 to the 1962 Commonwealth Immigrants Act, the 1963 Bristol Bus Boycott and Paul Stepenson’s 1964 pub protest to the 1965 Race Relations Act, to the 1993 murder of Stephen Lawrenceto the 2005 change in the double jeopardy law and the 2018 government announcement of Stephen Lawrence Day on April 22.
The event is part of marking African Jubilee Year 1987-88 @ 501968 Race Relations Act @ 50 and UN’s International Decade For People Of African Descent (IDPAD) initiative.
It’s an Xtra History & Reasoning  Sessions inter-generational event, so you are welcome to bring young people.
