Discussing contemporary art on the Black Lives Matter protests

Many artists have been compelled to create works in the wake of George Floyd’s murder and the Black Lives Matter protests that have ensued. In fact, there’s a long, rich history in the visual arts depicting people and events connected to the Civil Rights movement.

Rodney will be joined by Remi Majekodunmi and A.J. Boudreaux, both of whom are docents at the Museum of the African Diaspora in San Francisco. The three will discuss ways of engaging with recently created artworks and invite members of the audience to share their perspectives as well. Many, but not all, of these works are by African American artists. We’ll include others by artists outside that community and even some from outside the US.

Zoom connect info. will be in the Order confirmation email you receive after registering (which is FREE).
