We’re extremely excited to announce Black Ballad’s 2nd annual Cocktails & Conversations – an evening of celebrating the talents, trials & triumphs of black British women, through honest conversation with the women that are creating and shaping our history today.
This year’s theme is Vitality, which is defined as:
“The capacity for survival or for the continuation of a meaningful or purposeful existence”

Keynote speaker
– Jamelia: singer, tv presenter and documentary author
Entrepreneurship
– Benjamina Ebuehi: Quarter Finalist on the Great British Bake Off 2016 & Food Stylist
– Ifey Frederick: Co-Founder of Nigerian Tapas Pop-up resturant, Chukus
Wisdom Panel
Three black women that have been in their careers for 15 years or more & have reached the highest heights of their professions. They will be sharing their stories & giving us their tips for longetivity and sustained excellence.
– Karen Tippett: Multi-award winning founder of travel & lifestyle PR firm TippettPR
– Shelley Collins: Founder & Director of Just Resources
– Nike Folayan: Associate Director WSP and Chairperson AFBE-UK
Our host for the evening will be Founder of AriatuPR, Ronke Lawal, and of course, there will be cocktails and other refreshments too. More importantly, you’ll be alongside other black British women also hoping to contribute towards making the world a better place for black women everywhere!
This Black Ballad event is open to everyone, with Black Ballad members getting access to discounted tickets sent to them via email:
