Entrepreneurship is in the blood of people from the African (incl Caribbean) Diaspora and there has been a steady growth of black businesses contributing to the UK’s economy, serving the Black community and beyond.
It has never been a better time to be a black entrepreneur with an estimated £25-£32 billion to the UK economy per year contributed by ‘BME’ businesses in the UK (Economic and Social Research Council). We want to this continue, but, perhaps like you, we are fully aware of the challenges facing Black entrepreneurs including: access to finance, finding and maintaining employees, growing sales managing overheads and scaling up.
