Leeds’ BME Hub is marking and celebrating Black History Month 2017 with a focus on education – inspired and stimulated by the book “The Mis – Education of the Negro” published in 1933 by Carter G Woodson, the founder and father of Black History Month.
The BME Hub will launch Black History Month on: Friday 13 October 2017 and this further celebration event will take place on Friday 27 October 2017 at RJC Dance, 6.30pm – 8.30pm. Light refreshments will be served from 5.30pm.
Using presentations, testimonies and performance we will examine:
· What are our social and cultural educational problems?
· What are the social and cultural aims of education?
· What should they be?
