Marking 30 years of Black History Month in the UK, educators Marcia Steele & Louise Brown of Parents Action and Reource Centre and Kevin Simpson Schools College Liaison Officer of London Metropolitan University will deliver workshops onThe importance of building positive racial identity, the role of education in buiding stong community, preparing for university.
The aims of the conference are to:

Build and strengthen the capacity and leadership of youth

Enable parents, educators and youth to network

Provide parents & youth with relevant information, and advice
There will be the following workshops:
Youth workshop I: Employability and leadership
Question to discuss: what is employability and how can we link that to building our community? The need to be in organisation as a part of well-being;
Youth workshop II: employability and preparing for higher education
Questions: how can we make the most out of work placements; how to prepare your personal statements for University /job what help and support is available
Other workshops include:
Building positive racial identity;
Improving educational outcomes;
Employability redefining success for Black youth
Light refreshments available.
Childrens programme donation of £5.00 for two children 3 children donation of £7.00
