Join us for a week of fun arts and crafts activities celebrating Black History Month. Suitable for children under 12, all materials provided
Monday 21st 11am – 1pm: Fan-tastic Fans
Design and make your own African-style handmade fans.
Monday 21st 1:30pm – 3pm: Feel the Rhythm
Learn about different dances from Africa and make a dancing puppet.
Tuesday 22nd 11am – 3pm: African Folktales
Listen to traditional African tales and create a drama piece.
Wednesday 23rd 11am – 1pm: Caribbean Flags
Create and design your own Caribbean flag.
Wednesday 23rd 1:30pm – 3pm: African Flags
Design your own African flag.
Thursday 24th 11am – 3pm: Anansi Spider – Arts Award Day
Hear the tale of this Trickster of Caribbean Folklore, explore it through a variety of fun arts activities, learn about the writer and illustrator and present what you’ve discovered – opportunity to earn a Discover Arts Award!
Friday 25th 11am – 3pm: African Pattern – Arts Award Day
Learn about pattern through a variety of fun arts activities, then look at key African artists working with pattern and present what you’ve discovered – opportunity to earn a Discover Arts Award!
Free – Booking Recommended
Suitable for children up to 12 years. Please note all children under 10 must be accompanied by an adult at all times.
