For British Black Music Month (BBMM) 2018, we take yet another departure from the usual Talking Copyrght (TC) format – as part of marking Reggae @ 50, this year’s TC will incorpoate presentations, followed by a DJ set that speaks to some of the reggae tracks and songs highlighted in the presentations.

Organised by BritishBlackMusic.com/Black Music Congress in association with City University Law School and Back2DaFuture Music.

This is a special opportunity to hear about Jamaican reggae’s chequered copyright history, with an emphasis on the music’s engagement from an academic and legal perspective by Dr Enrico Bonadio (City University Of London senior law lecturer); unique industry practice by Kennedy ‘Prezedent’ Mensah (Back2DaFuture music publisher), and connecting the legal and historical dots by Kwaku (BBM/BMC music industry tutor).

The evening will end with a skanking reggae DJ set by all three presenters playing some of the music that was the subject of their presentations – defintely a seminar with a difference to see your presenters come again with a wheel-back on a popular tune!
