Chaired by Dr Narasimha Murthy, Consultant Physician in Diabetes and Endocrine at University Hospitals Coventry and Warwickshire, and Sarah Hart Principal Lead Podiatrist Diabetes and Tissue Viability, South Warwickshire NHS Foundation Trust, the aims and objectives of this event are:

  • To link commissioners and providers together to open up conversations and joint working on diabetes foot care.
  • To network and facilitate discussions on how we can work together as a West Midlands team to reduce amputations and improve availability of Multi-Disciplinary Footcare Teams.
  • To share good practice and learning from others with the purpose of reducing inequality in services and reducing amputations.
  • To share local analysis of national diabetes foot care audit data and encourage discussions and practical actions to specifically target lower limb amputation variance.

The event will provide attendees with the broad policy context and the economic case for diabetic footcare and offer opportunities to engage with local case studies and examples of good practice.
