The Race Equality Network and Diversity & Inclusion team at the Institute of Psychiatry, Psychology & Neuroscience, King’s College London, is organising a seminar to mark Black History Month 2017. The seminar is aimed at all staff and students at King’s as a priority. However, external guests are also welcomed to attend.
The speaker, Robin Walker, also known as The Black History Man, is the foremost historian and writer on all matters related to ancient and medieval African history. His seminal work “When We Ruled” has been described as the most advanced synthesis on Ancient and Mediaeval African history ever written by a single author.
This seminar will give you some insight into the rich, and not widely known history of pre-colonial African civilisations and Black British History.

- 18:00 – 19:00 The History of Precolonial Africa
- 19:00 – 20:00 Black British History
- plus an opportunity to purchase Robin’s book “When We Ruled”
