Screening of Iconic film Director Menelik Shabazz rarely seen films

Menelik Shabazz will present a screening of his rarely seen films. The films, Blood Ah Go Run, Breaking Point and Step Forward Youth exposes the persistent injustices of Black youth in Britain. The presentation will include Q&A with the director, which explores the historical context of the films, whilst matching them to society’s present challenges concerning youth. The films will form an educational compendium to inform and provide further historical reference of Black peoples’ presence and influence in Britain in the mid 1970s to the late 1980s.
