Africa in London brings you the next forum;

‘Survive and Thrive in COVID-19’

The next Africa in London Forum, supported by the Mayor of London, the British Council and in partnership with the Africa in London Advisory Group will be hosted online on Friday 10 July 2020 from 4-6pm.

Are you an African creative, a cultural producer, musician, artist, dreamer, writer, poet, thinker, storyteller, academic, lover of Africa, an ally or just curious about the programme?

Join us for the next Africa in London forum, where we will come together to discuss how creatives and cultural producers of African descent can survive and thrive in the current political and economic climate.

We’ll be hearing from leaders in London’s cultural sector and key influencers from across the continent about how they are managing in the midst of the COVID-19 global pandemic. The death of George Floyd and the global Black Lives Matter movement will be an important part of the discussion too and we’re looking forward to hearing about how everyone has been following and responding to the Black Lives Matter movement, and what more can be done.

We also want to hear from you and will be having open discussions about how to Survive and Thrive in a communal, institutional and individual context. If you would like to add a point to the discussion agenda please get in touch with us by email africainlondon@london.gov.uk with ‘Survive and Thrive Forum Discussion’ as the subject line.

The event will be opened by London’s Deputy Mayor for Social Integration, Social Mobility, Community Engagement Debbie Weekes-Bernard. We’re also bringing together a host of other speakers and performers, and we’re excited to share the full programme with you soon.

The event will be hosted online through StreamYard. Register on eventbrite to reserve a space and we will send you the access link.
