CCSA Webinar: Confronting Race and Racism in our Schools

In the wake of the killings of Ahmaud Arbury, Breonna Taylor, and George Floyd, and the uprisings that ensued, there has been a global call to action to address the systemic racism that exists in our country. Dr. Laura McGowan-Robinson, Founder and CEO of the Diversity in Leadership Institute, will facilitate a conversation about the critical role that schools play in confronting race and racism. Yvette King-Berg, Executive Director of Youth Policy Institute Charter Schools, and Dr. Erin Studer, Executive Director of CHIME Institute Charter School, will share testimonials about how they began the work of addressing racial equity, diversity and inclusion in their charter school organizations, how they engaged the school community, lessons learned and the outcomes. This webinar will also share resources for educators on racial equity and anti-racism, trauma informed care and education, and social and emotional learning supports for schools.
