RAY – The show purely dedicated to the music and memory of “The Genius” that is Ray Charles

The show is a vibrant world celebration of all the hits from his colourful and illustrious 57 years career in the music industry, which included 3 career No. 1 hits, 17 Grammy Awards, and millions of album and singles sales, in addition to being one of the first musicians born in the state of Georgia to be inducted into the Georgia State Music Hall of Fame. His version of “Georgia on My Mind” was also made the official state song of Georgia; he was given a star on the Hollywood Walk of Fame and was one of the first inductees to the Rock & Roll Hall of Fame. He was also awarded the Grammy Lifetime Achievement Award in 1991, and inducted to the Rhythm & Blues Foundation.
In 2016, U.S. President Barack Obama said that “Ray Charles’s version of ‘America the Beautiful’ will always be in my view the most patriotic piece of music ever performed—because it captures the fullness of the American experience, the view from the bottom as well as the top, the good and the bad, and the possibility of synthesis, reconciliation, transcendence.”
RAYs classic blues, rhythm and blues, and gospel hits will be energetically performed by tribute Bobby KP Woods and his Live Band. Get yourselves ready for these.
I Got a Woman · What’d I Say · (Night Time Is) The Right Time · Georgia On My Mind · America the Beautiful · I Can’t Stop Loving You · We Are the World · Hellelujah I Love Her So · Hit The Road Jack · Let It Be · A Song For You · Unchain My Heart · Sorry Seems To Be The Hardest Word to name a few ?
Ray Charles – “The Genius”…unmissable
—————

Bobby KP Woods

I come from a Gospel background, and grew up singing in Sunday school songs like “Yes Jesus Loves Me” and “He’s Got The Whole World In His Hands”, so when my uncle introduced me to the music of Ray Charles my parents were not very happy.I quickly fell in love with the music and started singing those songs with several bands I was working with and began to get attention from the audience and by the age of seventeen I was working all over Europe but living in Germany where in 1978 I actually met Ray Charles my musical hero.On meeting him I told him how I came to know and love his music via my uncle who was a massive fan. He was very impressed and encouraged me to keep singing straight from the heart because that is where all the lyrical inspiration comes from.
After his passing I felt moved to do a tribute to his memory and his music so I have put this show together and wrote a song called “Still Around” as a huge influential tribute to the great man and I do hope you will all enjoy it.
Sincere thanks for your support with my tribute to one of the greatest musicians ever; the great Ray Charles.
