Following the success of its International Small Talks series, RIBA London is pleased to announce a monthly Small Talks series. Innovators and pioneers of architecture and design will provide valuable insight into their practice, whilst providing advice and tools to those pursuing these fields.

This new series will launch on Thursday 12 October, celebrating Black History Month. Join us for an evening of talks celebrating and exploring all aspects of black culture and experience within architecture and art.

Speaker Programme:

  • London based, British-Ghanaian artist Neequaye Dreph Dsane will examine his painting within the context of location and history

  • Elsie Owusu OBE, Chair of Architects for Change will discuss the successful RIBA+25 campaign, with Stephen Lawrence Charitable Trust, to boost diversity in architecture

  • RIBA Role Model, Thomas Aquilina presents ‘Seeing the City through Darkness’- From Kampala to London, this talk explores a contemplative and personal understanding of black identity in the everyday life of the city.

  • Stephen Lawrence Trust will present their upcoming projects
