All welcome to a free, special screening of ‘Scotland’s Hidden Shame’, https://www.bbc.co.uk/programmes/b0bqvv10 — a documentary which explores Scotland’s role in the transatlantic slave trade. You will have the chance to ask questions directly to the presenter, David Hayman, Stephen Mullen (co-author of the university’s Slavery & Abolition report and expert on Scotland’s role in Caribbean slavery) and Graham Campbell (leading activist and city councillor). The panel will be chaired by Tanya Cheadle, historian of gender & sexuality, who has a background in directing TV documentaries. Explore the history of Scotland and Slavery, learn more about the University of Glasgow’s legacies from slavery and the slave trade and discover how documentaries like this get commissioned and produced.
