WINDRUSH L.I.V.E stands for ‘Leave Ignorance, Value Education, Enterprise & Excellence.  The event provides an exciting look at British history and its impact on ordinary people.   This interactive awareness event is a great opportunity for Afro-Caribbean and African professionals to attend, share their experiences, and encourage the younger generation.

Windrush L.I.V.E. honours the memories of migrants who, in responding to a heartfelt open invitation from the then British government, arrived to rebuild the UK alongside the war-spirited indigenous working-class populace.   Together, their memories can only serve to help inspire, encourage, empower and be a living example of the positive ethics of hard work, ambition and self-determination to progress, despite cultural, geographical, societal, racial and educational setbacks.

The event will seek to connect, engage and inspire a greater understanding, across and within all ethnic and indigenous communities, of the economic and social impact of the Windrush generation on British society and culture.  It is also an occasion to network amongst fellow professionals and with young people, encouraging the latter to “Value Education, Enterprise & Excellence”.
